Fulfilling our calling

The description of the Glory of God is quite impressive in Ezekiel. It's interesting to reflect on what we imagine the Glory of God to look like.

I am encouraged by Ezekiel Chapter 2 because the Lord very clearly sends Ezekiel to tell the people God's message. He very clearly says: v. 5 "whether they listen or fail to list--for they are a rebellious house--they will know that a prophet has been among them." and v. 7 you must speak my words to them, whether they listen or fail to listen, for they are rebellious. This phrase "whether they listen or fail to listen" is mentioned twice in this chapter. There's a lot of significance in that because it's a reminder that as kingdom workers, as missionaries, we are simply called to obey God and His calling. Whether people listen and receive the gospel isn't our burden to bear. We are not people who can soften and change hearts. God may certainly use us, but at the end of the day, it is Him who grows the seeds that he has sent us to plant. It is such a false perception that Christians are out to convert people. No one can pridefully claim they converted anyone. No, noone has that kind of power to "convert", to change a heart, but the Lord Himself. This is humbling, but also very encouraging because we know that it is the Lord who will complete the work.
