Ezekiel 7
In today's text, the Lord continues to proclaim judgment over Israel. Notice that the Lord ends each section of his speech with some variation of "Then you will know that I am the Lord". The emphasis of all the promised judgment lies with these statements. And so what the Lord wishes to make known is who he is as a just God. Oftentimes when I think about who God is, I tend to think more of how God is love. I don't naturally think towards the just nature of God and how that involves judgment on account of the sins that I have committed. As I meditated on this passage, I thought about how understanding who God is as a just God sheds even more light on the love that He has for us. When I looked at what is deserving of sin against God, "disaster, unheard of disaster", I am humbled and in awe at the thought of Christ's sacrifice for me as a sinner, taking on the punishment in my place. I pray that I would be reminded of Christ's sacrifice for me every day, that I would continue to honor and give Him the worship he is due.
Been enjoying your writing here, man. Good stuff.
